SWITCHOVER PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

Symptom: Receiving BBC 1 & 2 Wales since 4th Nov but ITV is still Granada region

Cause:  New relay transmitter at Storeton Woods for Dee bank of North Wales is causing interference to freeview sets tuned to Winter Hill

2 - 'Most' sets will have tuned BBC 1 & 2 Northwest to freeview channels 800 and 801

3 - Full manual retune. (Make sure you have manual tune option) Read and follow carefully… Remove TV aerial from TV/Set Top Box (STB) - Using remote control and instruction manual, perform full reset (Also known as - first time install / factory default / system reset - or similar) Then with aerial lead still unplugged, perform full auto tune to wipe the channel list. N.B. search again yet!

Re-connect the TV aerial - access the manual tuning menu. Follow the manual tuning instructions using the following numbers.

Symptom:  Loss of BBC channels

Causes:

1 - Most common cause. You have not retuned your equipment since DSO Phase1 which you should now do. Try 'auto tune' first. If any of the above symptoms arise, follow the instructions for that cause.

2 - Some budget Digital TV's and STB's have been ok for BBC stations but commercial channels have always broken up. Since 4th November retune, the BBC channels are doing the same. This is usually a fault on the set and you need to return it to the retailer for testing.
